Emergency Medical Responder Course

Course Description
The Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) course is an entry-level emergency medical provider course that will prepare individuals for employment in a variety of pre-hospital, industrial and first responder settings. The successful completion of an approved First Responder course is a pre-requisite to pursuing training as a Fire Fighter, Emergency Medical Technician/Paramedic and many Law Enforcement programs.

The Training Center of Health First EMR course is designed to provide participants with the basic knowledge and skills to manage many medical and trauma-related emergencies. Upon successful completion of this course, graduates are eligible to seek national certification as a First Responder through the National Registry of EMTs.

This State of Florida, Bureau of Emergency Medical Services “Approved Course” has been designed by the Training Center of Health First to meet or exceed the National Standard Curriculum for Emergency Medical Responder (First Responder), as developed by the United States Department of Transportation, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Course Schedule

The Training Center of Health First Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) course is 48 hours of combined didactic and skills instruction. The course consists of twenty-eight (28) lessons established by the U.S. Department of Transportation, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Combined with this course is the American Heart Association, Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers course.

This class begins in February 2010.
