About Viera Hospital
Back to Viera Hospital Main page
Health First is proud to bring a new, state-of-the-art healthcare campus to the dynamic and growing community of Viera. Situated west of Interstate 95 on the southwest corner of Wickham Road and Lake Andrew Drive, the 50-acre Viera Health Park is centrally located in one of the fastest growing regions of the state.
It is estimated that between 2000 and 2010, the resident population within Brevard County will increase by 19 percent, and the population of Viera/Suntree is expected to increase by 99 percent. Given this explosion of growth, the need for a new hospital is obvious, and Health First is working hard to meet this critical need.
Health First's mission involves "positively changing the health and well-being" of Brevard County residents "through excellent and compassionate health care." The Viera Health Park will bring a full continuum of healthcare services emphasizing health, wellness, and disease prevention, as well as a full range of traditional outpatient and inpatient services.
Breaking Ground on a Healthy Future
Health First broke ground on Phase I of Viera Health Park in early 2006. The new Pro-Health & Fitness Center Viera, which opened in the fall of 2008, is now fully operational. In 2009, construction on the new 250,000-sq. ft. Viera Hospital began.
When completed in 2011, Viera Hospital will feature:
- 84 all-private, in-patient rooms
- 16 observation beds
- 24-hour Emergency Department
- Outpatient diagnostic services
- Full medical/surgical capabilities
Health First employs more than 6,000 associates and currently operates three not-for-profit hospitals in the Space Coast region, including Cape Canaveral Hospital, Holmes Regional Medical Center, and Palm Bay Hospital.
